Are you taking a gamble?

06 Jun 2014

In a recent survey carried out by the leading insurance provider, Zurich, it was established that small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) are at risk of a ‘severe impact’ by having no insurance protection in place for key employees and/or the business owners.

Zurich’s research which surveyed 513 senior decision makers from SME’s found that between 45%-56% believed that the death or diagnosis of a critical illness of a business owner or key member of staff is the biggest risk to the future success and ongoing profitability of a business.

The loss of a ‘Key Person’ is likely to create a gap in the management structure of the business as well as a significant skills shortage in a critical role which means that finding an equivalent replacement could prove not only challenging but very costly.

The cost of providing insurance cover to mitigate the impact of this risk is relatively low and if you reviewed your business operation and roles undertaken by the ‘key personnel’ you may find that you are taking an unnecessary gamble.
